Information on Digital Accessibility

Status: 9 July 2025

Purpose of this Information

This statement describes the current state of digital accessibility for the website https://snow-experts.at. It aims to provide transparency for users and documents which accessibility features have already been implemented – as well as which areas still require improvement.

1. Description of the Digital Service

The website https://snow-experts.at provides information about tourism-related services and enables users to get in touch, submit booking requests and navigate content.

The digital access is delivered via a responsive, image-focused website with form functions, structured content areas and interactive elements.

2. Implemented Accessibility Measures

In the reviewed areas (homepage) and technically shared template components (e.g. header, footer, navigation), the following accessibility measures are implemented:

  • Use of semantic HTML structure elements (e.g. header, nav, main, footer)
  • Inclusion of aria-labels for better orientation with screen readers
  • Clearly structured heading hierarchy (h1–h4)
  • Use of defined language attributes
  • Texts are mostly rendered in sufficient font size and responsive layout
  • Navigation is generally keyboard accessible

3. Known Limitations

The accessible implementation of the website is being improved incrementally, within the available technical and economic resources.

A particular focus is currently placed on:

  • Color contrast: Several text elements (e.g. links or buttons over image backgrounds as well as primary action buttons such as “Zu den Kursen”) currently do not meet the recommended contrast values according to analysis tools (e.g. WAVE, axe).Example: White text on light green (#85B312) reaches a contrast ratio of only 2.88:1 – well below the required minimum of 4.5:1 for normal text.Manual review has confirmed acceptable legibility; visual and semantic improvements are being considered.
  • Redundant links: In some content areas, multiple adjacent links with different link texts point to the same target page. This can cause navigation issues for users relying on screen readers.
  • Form labeling: Some form fields (e.g. search field) currently lack explicitly machine-readable label elements. The functionality is retained, but semantic linkage is incomplete.
  • Image descriptions: Some images use identical or overly detailed alt texts, which may reduce clarity for assistive technologies. Context-based simplification is being planned.

Continuous improvement is part of our quality standards and is documented internally.

4. Scope of the Review

The current review covers the homepage and shared template components (e.g. header, footer, navigation, layout framework).

Detailed analysis of subpages and interactive functionality will follow in stages.

5. Future Development

Digital accessibility is being improved on an ongoing basis as part of technical maintenance and available resources.

Planned next steps include:

  • Improved contrast in interface elements,
  • Harmonization and refinement of alternative texts,
  • Semantic enhancements in forms and interactive areas.
